“International Collaboration Between Two Institutes for Hydrobiology and Marine Biology: Knowledge Exchange in Research, Education and Administration"

Collaboration between Research Institute of Fish Culture and Hydrobiology, University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic, and Shimoda Marine Research Center, University of Tsukuba, Japan, started in July, 2006 in the course of discussion between Prof. Otomar Linhart and myself. It was not only on our common interest for fish sperm but also on several issues in the administration of hydrobiology or marine biology institutes. We have discussed many times on the organization of university institutes, managements and development and maintenance of research facilities, all of which were important commonly for both institutes. Through a collaborative research, graduate students from both institutes also visited other institutes for experiments, scientific discussions and learning new technologies. These achievements so far are promised to develop into cosser international exchange between Czech Republic and Japan or into establishment of global network on research, culture and education.
